Course Fees & Scholarships

Course Cost

  1. The total cost for the course is $200.00, if paid in full by May 1, 2011.
  2. After May 1, 2011, the course fee will increase to $225.00.
  3. The course fee covers all meals, lodging, participant notebook, certificate of completion, two course t-shirts, hat, NYLT neckerchief and slide, and belt buckle.
  4. Fee assistance is available. The scholarship form is available at the bottom of this page.

NYLT Deposit

  1. The $75.00 deposit is due within three weeks of recommendation by unit leader. Once the unit leader has recommended the particpant for the NYLT course, a second e-mail is sent to the participant and the Scoutmaster is copied, on the procedures for submitting the course deposit.
  2. Deposit checks should be submitted along with copy of registration form to Don Young, 2011 NYLT Scoutmaster, 14296 Bennington Drive, Strongsville, Ohio 44136.
  3. Make checks payable to 'Greater Cleveland Council' and include the participant's name and 'NYLT Deposit' in the notes section of your check.

Troop Scholarships

  1. Many troops have scholarship funds available to help offset the cost of advanced training like NYLT.
  2. Talk to your unit leader or committee chairman to find out if your unit can assist with the course fees.
  3. Funds from the unit should be made out to the 'Greater Cleveland Council', with the participant's name in the Notes section of the check.

Greater Cleveland Council (GCC) Scholarships

  1. In order to apply for the GCC scholarship, download the scholarship application form from the link below.
  2. Fill out the form and sign it (no financial proof of need is required).
  3. The unit leader must also sign the form to authorize the participant to receive the scholarship.
  4. Submit the form, along with the $75.00 deposit check and a copy of the registration form, to the address above.
  5. Scholarships may be requested after the initial deposit has been submitted.
  6. Scholarship applications MUST BE RECEIVED no later than May 1, 2011 in order to be considered.
  7. Requests after the cut-off date may not be considered.

Balance of Course Fees

  1. After May 1, 2011, the course fee will increase to $225.00 for all participants not yet paid in full.
  2. All participants must be paid in full by May 15, 2011.
  3. Participants not paid in full by the deadline may be at risk of being bumped from the course.
